2. General principles and scope of processing
This website is a simple, private web presence. No analysis of usage behaviour takes place. Specifically, the following are used or not used:

• no cookies that are not technically strictly necessary
• no web analytics or audience measurement tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo)
• no tracking pixels, advertising networks or profiling
• no social media plug-ins, like or share buttons
• no contact forms, newsletters or user accounts
• no external fonts, scripts or media loaded from third-party servers when the site is accessed

Beyond the data necessary for the technical operation of the website (section 3), personal data is only processed if you contact me yourself by e-mail (section 5).

3. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by an external service provider (dataforest GmbH, brand AVORO, Germany). When the website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically stores information in server log files that your browser transmits. This typically includes:

• IP address of the accessing device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the retrieved file
• volume of data transferred and status of the retrieval
• browser type and version, operating system
• where applicable, the previously visited page (referrer URL)

Purpose: ensuring trouble-free connection setup, convenient use of the website, evaluation of system security and stability, and defence against and investigation of attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest follows from the aforementioned purposes of technically secure operation of the website.
Retention period: log files are deleted or truncated after 7 days, unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific security incident.

This data is not merged with other data sources or evaluated for advertising or analysis purposes. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

4. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption to protect data in transit (recognisable by "https://" in your browser's address bar). This prevents third parties from reading the data transmitted by your browser.

5. Contact by e-mail
An e-mail address is provided on the website as a "mailto" link. Clicking on it merely opens your local e-mail program; no data is transmitted to me at this point.

If you send me an e-mail, I process the data you transmit (your e-mail address, your name and the content of your message) exclusively to handle and respond to your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries); if your enquiry is aimed at the conclusion or performance of a contract, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR is an additional legal basis.
Retention period: your message is deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively dealt with and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.

Please note that an unencrypted e-mail could be read by third parties in transit. For the transmission of confidential information, I recommend an encrypted channel or another means of transmission.

6. Link to my LinkedIn profile
This website contains a simple hyperlink to my profile on the LinkedIn network. This is not a social media plug-in: no data is transmitted to LinkedIn and no content is loaded from LinkedIn servers when you visit my website.

Only when you actively click the link are you redirected to LinkedIn and your data (in particular your IP address) transmitted to the provider. The provider for users in the European Economic Area is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland. 7. Recipients and third-country transfers
Your personal data is not passed on to third parties, with the exception of the hosting provider named in section 3 as a processor and where I am legally obliged to disclose it. No transfer to countries outside the EU/EEA is intended.

8. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place.

9. Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights vis-à-vis me with regard to your personal data:

• access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
